11:00 - 12:30 Weekly Seminar Magnetic Fields in Galaxies: Amplification and Feedback School ASTRONOMY Magnetic fields pervade the universe on different scales but their origin, feedback, and evolution in galaxies are of pressing questions. The alpha-omega dynamo mechanism suggested to explain large-scale, ordered field in galaxies is recently challenged by both polarization observations and cosmological simulations. Our observations show that a small-scale dynamo together with magnetic flux freezing can likely explain the distribution of the ordered magnetic field. We find that the structure and regularity of the magnetic field plays an important role in propagation of cosmic ray electrons and, consequently, on the well-known radio-infrared ... 14:00 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar HEPCo Group A Quantum Description of Wave Dark Matter (Arxiv no: 2408.04696) School PHYSICS Date and time Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 (Azar 6th, 1403), 2:00 pm (Tehran zone) Link https://www.skyroom.online/ch/schoolofphysics/highenergyseminar Abstract In this talk, I will outline a fundamentally quantum description of bosonic dark matter. Following a quantum optics inspired approach, I will show the density operator of dark matter, which takes a mixed Gaussian form over a coherent state basis. This formalism also allows a precise description of quantities related to dark matter coherence. I will further give a continuous desc ... |
