Research Activities

Because of its rich structural properties, soft matter has found a major role in technological applications. On the other hand, the materials that biological textures are made of are structurally soft and most often this structural property plays a key role in their functionality. My research is focused on the study of different systems such as collidal particles, stiff polymers, biological polymers, and poly electrolytes in their response to external probes such as variations in temprature and solvent properties, as well as applied external forces and torgues. Knowledge of these responses could help in understanding various biological mechanisms as well as designing novel "smart" materials.
