Search for lepton-flavor-violating ALPs at a future muon collider

PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS

Abstract: Axion-like particles (ALPs) are pseudo Nambu-Goldstone bosons associated with the spontaneously broken global U(1)_{PQ} symmetry. Such particles can have lepton-flavor-violating (LFV) couplings to the SM charged leptons. LFV ALPs provide the possibility to address some of the SM long-lasting problems. In this talk, after a brief review of the origin of ALPs, I will show you how we can search for LFV ALPs at a future muon collider designed and suggested by the Muon Accelerator Program (MAP). I will present the expected upper limits on LFV couplings of the ALP derived from this search and show that utilization of the muon beam polariz ...

Simulating Realistic Biomembrane Shapes

NANO SCIENCES

Biomembranes are essential functional elements of the cell architecture, actively participating in vital cellular processes. A central feature of living cell membranes is their flexible shape that undergoes constant transformations at a length scale much greater than their thickness. Uncovering the mechanisms that underlie the shape remodelling of these macromolecular structures is essential for understanding their biological functions and providing fundamental scientific bases for combatting diseases, engineering artificial cells, and designing drug delivery vehicles. One of the important drivers of membrane remodelling is the cooperative ac ...
