Cosmic censorship conjecture in a general Kerr–Newman black hole

PHYSICS

Abstract:
Using some probes, the violation of cosmic censorship conjecture in a general Kerr–Newman black hole is investigated. The result depends on many factors, like the relative sign of charge and rotation direction of the probe and black hole. Moreover the comparison of the angular momentum of the black hole and its charge has an impressive effect. Considering all these together, we have found the range of the angular momentum, energy and charge of the probe for which the event horizon disappears. We have found that cosmic censorship conjecture violation is possible only for near extremal black hole if the parameters of the pr ...

PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS

Abstract: We study the time-dependent perturbations of strongly coupled N = 4 SYM theory at finite temperature and chemical potential including a second order phase transition. This theory is modelled by a top-down Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton description which is a consistent truncation of the dimensional reduction of type IIB string theory on AdS_5*S_5. We focus on spin-1 and spin-2 sectors of perturbations and compute the linearized hydrodynamic transport coefficients up to the third order in gradient expansion. Analytically, we find that all the hydrodynamic quantities have the same critical exponent near the critical point ? = 0.5. Moreover, ...
