  Abstract:
We study ground-state properties of a two-dimensional fluid of single-component polarized dipolar fermions within the Euler-Lagrange Fermi-hypernetted-chain approximation. Our method is based on the solution of a scattering Schrodinger equation for the "pair amplitude" p√{g(r)} with an effective potential which includes a Bose like term from the Jastrow-Feenberg correlations and a Fermi term from kinetic energy and exchange which is tailored to reproduce the Hartree-Fock limit at weak coupling. A very good agreement with the recent quantum Monte-Carlo (QMC) simulation results over a wide range of coupling strengths is achieved. We also investigate instability towards the formation of density waves. In agreement with the QMC studies we do not find any instability for purely repulsive and isotropic dipolar interaction.
