The aim of this workshop is to introduce the participants to the modern representation theory
of quivers and finite-dimensional algebras and to present some recent developments, concerning in particular the theory of cluster algebras and its fascinating links to quiver representations. These subjects are one of the highlights of current research in representation theory, yielding an interesting mixture of combinatorial and homological techniques. The tools
of homological algebra play a key role in these courses.
The lectures will be started with background material
from representation theory of algebras. Cluster algebras following Fomin- Zelevinsky will be introduced and their construction and main properties will be illustrated on examples. The categorification of cluster algebras both in the acyclic case using quiver representations and also in the general case using cluster categories associated with quivers with potentials will be discussed. Moreover, cluster tilting theory will be
studied in details.
