| 11:00 - 12:30 Weekly Seminar Cosmic Ray Propagation and Radio-FIR Correlation in IC 342 School ASTRONOMY We will explore a detailed analysis of the radio-far infrared (FIR) correlation in the nearby galaxy IC 342 at an unprecedented 200 pc resolution, using LOFAR LOTSS observations combined with VLA, Herschel, and WISE data. Our multi-frequency study (0.14-4.8 GHz) reveals that while the radio-FIR correlation holds globally, it breaks down at different characteristic scales depending on frequency: ~320 pc at 0.14 GHz versus ~200 pc at 1.4 GHz. This scale-dependent behavior provides direct evidence for cosmic ray electron propagation in the interstellar medium.
