The current first-line treatment involves the intravitreal administration of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) agents to inhibit abnormal blood vessel growth in the retina. While initially effective, some patients experience a progressive decline in response to anti-VEGF therapy after repeated administrations. This diminishing efficacy is often attributed to the development of resistance through overlapping and compensatory pathways. Future therapeutic strategies may focus on identifying novel targets, rewiring pathological signalin ... |
