Diffractive parton distribution functions considering higher twist corrections

PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS

Abstract:

We present SKMHS22, a new set of diffractive parton distribution functions (PDFs) and their uncertainties at next-to-leading-order and next-to-next-to-leading-order accuracy in perturbative QCD within the xFitter framework. We describe all available diffractive DIS data sets from HERA and the most recent high-precision H1/ZEUS combined measurements considering three different scenarios. First, we extract the diffractive PDFs considering the standard twist-2 contribution. Then, we include the twist-4 correction from the longitudinal virtual photons. Finally, the contribution of subleading Reggeon exchange to the struct ...

Abstract:
In the present seminar, a time-fractional dual-phase-lag model with temperature jump boundary condition as a choice for the Fourier's law replacement in thermal modelling of transistors will be presented. The Caputo fractional derivative is employed to formulate the finite difference scheme for discretization of the fractional DPL model. The obtained framework is used to study the ...

Returning Panpsychism to Emergentism

School
COGNITIVE SCIENCES

Abstract :

Panpsychism was proposed as an alternative to emergentism in order to consider consciousness not as a result of the complexity of lower levels, but as a fundamental truth in the world, and in this way, to overcome the challenges faced by emergentism. In this lecture, while illustrating emergentism framework and its two weak and strong versions, I will explain its main problem and ambiguity from the perspective of physicalism. Then, by explaining Panpsychism approach and the evolution of its versions during recent decades, aim to show that more reasonable versions of Panpsychism - which do not suffer from the "problem ...
