10:00 - 11:30     Seminar - Integrated Cognitive Assessment for Timely Diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment and Alzheimer's Disease

Description :

Early detection and monitoring of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's Disease (AD) patients are key to tackling dementia and providing benefits to patients, caregivers, healthcare providers and society. Digital biomarkers can help identify and monitor subtle cognitive changes in individuals at risk of developing dementia. Furthermore, such tests are able to benefit from advanced analytics for more accurate and personalised results. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning are being increasingly used for applications in Dementia research. We developed the Integrated Cognitive Assessmen ...

Coherent radiation as an effective tool for beam diagnostics in AWAKE experiment

Abstract: In the AWAKE experiment at CERN, self-modulated proton bunches (produced by a short-pulse high-power laser) drive wakefields in a plasma. The aim is to accelerate electrons externally injected in these wakefields. In AWAKE Run 1, electron bunches were accelerated up to 2 GeV in wakefields driven by high-energy proton bunches in 10 m of plasma. AWAKE Run 2 will deal with accelerating high-charge bunches of electrons (~50 GeV). So, detailed modeling is required, and this is only possible with excellent diagnostics. To study beam parameters such as its size at injection, longitudinal and transverse profiles, and also to figure out the ...
