| 11:00 - 13:00 Commutative Algebra Webinar DG Algebra Structure of Free Resolutions School MATHEMATICS Let $R$ be a residue class of a commutative Noetherian ring $S$. A free resolution of $R$ over $S$ is considered as an extension of a presentation of $R$ by its relations. The existence of a differential graded algebra (DGA) structure for a free resolution of $R$ gives lots of information about the complexity of $R$. The aim of this talk is to give a brief introduction to differential graded algebras. A prime example of DGA is the Koszul complex. Tate showed that by starting from the Koszul complex on relations of $R$, it is always possible to construct a free resolution of $R$ with a DGA structure. ... |
