Study of the nature of neutrinos and dark matter from CMB polarizations

PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS

Abstract: Cosmic neutrino background (CNB) and cosmic microwave background (CMB) are the oldest particles in the universe. These remnants glow from the early universe (big bang time) have traveled for more than 13.6 billion years. Along their trip, they have been faced by many interactions and have picked up various tales about the history of universe and interactions from beyond the standard models of particles. One of the ways the CMB tells a story is through its polarization. However, in the case of CMB polarizations, we are aware that the distribution of new interactions (new physics) is smaller than the distribution of the standard model ...

ASTRONOMY

We present an analysis of the potential follow-up polarimetry microlensing observation to study the stellar atmospheres of the distant stars. First, we produce synthetic microlensing events using the Galactic model, stellar population, and interstellar dust toward the Galactic Bulge. We simulate the polarization microlensing light curves and pass them through the instrument specifications of FOcal Reducer and low dispersion Spectrograph (FORS2) polarimeter at Very Large Telescope (VLT), and then analyze them. We find that the accuracy of the VLT telescope lets us constrain the atmosphere of cool RGB stars. Assuming detection of about 3000 mic ...

Elastic model for studying structure, energy, and unwrapping of dinucleosome

Abstract:

Packaging of genomic DNA into chromatin is essential for eukaryotic cells. The nucleosomes, which are the building blocks of the chromatin, are connected to each other with 10-90 base pairs (bp) of linker DNA. The dynamics of nucleosomes has crucial e?ects on the expression, replication, and repair of genomes in eukaryotes. The equilibrium structure of a dinucleosome is studied using an elastic model that takes into account the force and torque balance conditions. Using the proper boundary conditions, it is found that the ...

Abstract:

In this seminar, I'll consider a model for a neuron population where each neuron is modeled by an over-damped rotator. I'll investigate the synchronization properties of the system under the changes in some model parameters. It is found that in the space of these parameters, there exist some regions that the system shows synchronization. Interestingly, just at the transition point, the avalanche statistics show a power-law behaviour. The system shows a ...
