Fusion 58, 103001 (2016); and some other papers. Abstract: Laser wakefield accelerators (LWFAs) promise to produce very compact GeV accelerators. LWFAs have now gained sufficient maturity that- just as with conventional accelerators- their electron beams are beginning to find use as light sources generating high-energy radiation. In other words, LWFAs can provide novel tabletop light sources, compared with very large conventional synchrotrons and free-electron lasers. In this talk, we review light sources from relativistic electrons of LWFAs, and discusses their potential applicatio ... |
