| 15:00 - 16:00 Weekly Seminar Development of a helicon ion source: Simulations and experiments School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Abstract: In this presentation I will talk about our constructed helicon ion source at Amirkabir University of Technology. Simulation of the extraction system of the helicon ion source was performed with the IBSimu code. The simulated ion beam extraction system has been evaluated using parameters such as the gap distance between electrodes, electrodes aperture and extraction voltage. Ion beam is measured with Faraday cup and beam profile grid. At 20 kV, argon current of more than 200 ?A and 400 ?A at 380 G and 760 G is extracted.
