11:00 - 12:00 Theory Weekly Seminar(TWS) Symmetries near the black hole horizon School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Abstract: In this talk, I will start by a brief introduction on near horizon extremal geometries and the corresponding uniqueness theorems. Then, I will review our previous studies on the near horizon structure of a special class of black holes for which the horizon area vanishes in the extremal limit. We will see that our theorems guarantee the presence of a 3d maximally symmetric subspace and the symmetry enhancement in the near horizon geometries of such black holes. I will conclude by a discussion on hidden symmetries associated with the near horizon extremal geometries. Larak Seminar Room |
