10:00 - 11:00 Weekly Seminar Deep Learning and its Application for Gene Expression Prediction from Histone Modifications School BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES Deep learning allows computational models that are composed of multiple processing layers to learn representations of data with multiple levels of abstraction. These methods have dramatically improved the state-of-the-art in object detection and many domains such as bioinformatics, drug design and genomics. In this seminar, I will give an overview of deep learning and introduce deep convolutional neural networks (CNN), one of the common deep neural networks architecture. CNN is composed of multiple layers, such as convolution and pooling layers, and is designed to automatically and adaptively learn spatial hierarchies of features throu ... |
