10:00 - 11:00 Weekly Seminar Phylogenetic trees and time to the most recent common ancestor of hepatitis virus in Iran School BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES Although many individuals are currently infected with Hepatitis virus in Iran, population dynamics for the number of Hepatitis infections in the last decades are unknown. Also, limited information are available for the Most Recent Common Ancestor (MRCA) of Hepatitis virus. To answer these questions, we have sequenced NS5B gene of Hepatitis C (166 samples) and the Surface gene of Hepatitis B (312 samples), in Iranian strains. Based on these samples, the most appropriate nucleotide substitution model for the virus strains is determined. Then, based on the Maximum Likelihood (ML) approach, phylogenetic trees are constructed for the Iran ... |
