The speech deals with one of the most famous models in the theory of evolution, the Price Equation, and has six sections. 1. At first, the two main categories of mathematical models in science are introduced: Analytical models derived from definitions and empirical models derived from tables of data. 2. Then the Price Equation is introduced as an analytic model for describing evolutionary changes. 3.
