10:00 - 11:00 Weekly Seminar Precision medicine in oncology: Still not ready for prime time? School BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES Abstract: Although many advances have been made in detecting, diagnosis and treating cancer, chemotherapy (the primary means of treatment) is only effective in 25% of those treated. This failure in oncology somewhat relies on trial-and-error or one-size-fits-all approach in which everyone gets the same therapeutic regimen, regardless of genotype. Therefore, treatment strategy in oncology is shifting to precision medicine. Precision medicine is described as the tailoring of medical treatment to the individual characteristics of each patient. In this regard, physicians are now studying cellular and molecular characteristics and genes to ... 11:00 - 12:00 Theory Weekly Seminar(TWS) Analytical structure of trace-less correlator in phi^4 theory and second order hydrodynamics School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Trace-less correlator plays a central role in hydrodynamics, controlling both the shear viscosity and some second order transport coefficients. As a model, we are to analyze this correlator in the phi^4 theory by using the kinetic theory approach. We have shown that this correlator possesses a cut along the negative imaginary frequency. This effect signals the appearance of second order hydrodynamics in the late time behavior of phi^4 theory. Larak Seminar Room |
