| 16:00 - 17:00 Seminar Limits to Set-theoretic Definability of Constructions School MATHEMATICS In 1976 I conjectured that there is a model of ZFC set theory in which no formula (with parameters) extends each field to an algebraic closure of that field. Since around 1980 I have been working with Saharon Shelah to try to prove this, with less than full success. We are currently writing up what we can prove, which includes the conjecture with no parameters in the formula. ... |
