11:00 - 12:30 Weekly Seminar Using Gaussian process for consistency test of the LCDM model with Planck CMB data School ASTRONOMY The Planck mission provides the most precise full sky measurement of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) which contains a wealth of information about the Universe. Although the LCDM model predicts greatly the CMB observation however there is still the risk of imposing or missing some features by the model on the data. Therefore a non-parametric approach can help to test impartially the consistency between cosmological model and CMB data. In this talk we first explain the methodology and then show how to use Gaussian Process regression to test the consistency between LCDM model and CMB Planck data through estimating the related TT, TE and EE ang ... 11:00 - 12:00 Experimental Seminar (ExpS) Measurement of central exclusive pi+pi- production at 7 TeV in CMS School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS I report a measurement of the exclusive production of pairs of charged pions in proton-proton collisions. The differential cross sections for pi+ pi- pairs as a function of the pion pair invariant mass is measured and compared to several phenomenological predictions.
