09:00 - 17:00 Workshop International Workshop on New Advances on Quantum Information Science and Technology School NANO SCIENCES International Workshop on New Advances on Quantum Information Science and Technology In this workshop, we aim to cover some of the recent advances on quantum information science and technologies. The workshop features several focused presentations by leading international researchers working on diverse subjects, including theory and experiment, which have immediate impact on quantum physics and recent emerging technologies. ... 13:30 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar The origin of giant stream and other tidal structures in M31 School ASTRONOMY Observations have found that our nearest galaxy, M31, district tidal structures; a giant stream and two shelves. I shall discuss the origin of these structures using analytical works and numerical simulation. ... 14:00 - 15:00 Seminar(Notice the unusual time) HEPCo Group Resurgence in relativistic hydrodynamics School PHYSICS Seminar Room Class D, Farmanieh Building ... 15:00 - 16:00 Weekly Seminar Laser Driven Tera-Hertz Electron Injectors School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS In order to shrink the size of the accelerators one possible way is to go to higher frequencies e.g. THz regime. We pursue such method in the AXSIS project (Attosecond X-ray Science: Imaging and Spectroscopy). Two laser driven THz electron injectors have been designed to be used as the gun in THz accelerating structures: First, a broadband multilayer structure which is capable of accelerating the electrons from rest up to 1.5MeV kinetic energy using 2mJ single cycle of THz signal. The second design is a four cell ormal conducting cavity which is actually a narrow-band component and needs about 300 THz cycles with ... |
