Thermodynamical cost of some interpretations of quantum theory

The interpretation of quantum theory is one of the longest-standing debates in physics. Type I interpretations see quantum probabilities as determined by intrinsic properties of the observed system. Type II see them as relational experiences between an observer and the system. It is usually believed that a decision between these two options cannot be made simply on purely physical grounds but requires an act of metaphysical judgment. Delocalization, geometry, and optimality in purple bacterial light harvesting

Photosynthetic organisms harvest light using antenna complexes containing many chlorophyll molecules. Despite the wide variety of the light-harvesting complexes and very noisy environments surrounding them, the energy absorbed by these complexes is efficiently transmitted to the reaction centre. In this talk, we investigate the role of rotational symmetry within the light-harvesting complexes of purple bacteria on the efficiency of energy transfer. Design and Measurement of Solenoid Magnets for IPM Electron Linac

PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS

IPM Linac is an 8 MeV electron linear accelerator. This machine consists of an electron gun, a buncher and two accelerating structures. Beam focusing in the buncher and accelerating tubes provides by solenoid magnets. In my presentation I will overview solenoid design to provide beam dynamic requirements. Then I will talk about magnetic measurement system and the main challenges for testing these solenoids.
