  Abstract:
Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering applied to raw fMRI time series has limitations such as requiring knowledge of the number of clusters, unknown statistical significance and instability of results. Using a randomization approach, we developed a method to control the rate of false positive detection in FCM and find the statistical significance of the results. In addition, a new feature space, using multi- and scalar-wavelet domains, is proposed for activation detection to overcome the stability and ?curse of dimensionality? problems. .
