Philosopher and theologian Alvin Plantinga, of the University of Notre Dame, will present a lecture entitled "Modality and Possible Worlds" at  15:00, Sunday, October 20 at the School of Math. of IPM.

Professor Plantinga is one of the leading scholars in the field of Christian philosophy. He is author of more than 100 articles and a dozen books, including "Faith and Philosophy" ، "God and Other Minds" ، "The Nature of Necessity" and "Faith and Rationality."

Plantinga is the John A. O'Brien Professor of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. He received his A.B. degree from Calvin College, his M.A. from the University of Michigan, and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1958.

Plantinga has served as President of the Central Division of the American Philosophical Association and President of the Society of Christian Philosophers. He has received numerous awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship, as well as honorary degrees from Glasgow University, Calvin College, North Park College, and the Free University of Amsterdam.
